Course Objectives

After reviewing training content and answering interactive and reflective questions, you will be able to do each of the following, as assessed by online discussions and quizzes:

  1. Explain how physical activity supports good health and contributes to the prevention of illness.
  2. Describe standards that promote good health and illness prevention through physical activity in early learning settings.
  3. Apply strategies that promote physical activity by emphasizing healthy bodies, healthy lifestyles, and a healthy environment.
  4. Talk with and provide resource information to families about health and physical activity.


STARS Credit: 

As of October 1, 2023, online trainings can provide Washington State providers with State Training and Registry System credits through the Continuing Education Proposal (CEP) application provided by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF). STARS credits will no longer be issued automatically upon completion of the course on the Nourished & Active website. For more information on the CEP process, please visit the FAQ page . You can also learn more about this process on the DCYF website.
